Debra doesn't have it exactly easy. She's one of the few woman in a rather testosterone-driven Miami Metro Police Department. She has a (maybe) psychopathic brother who murders people regularly. She has rotten taste in men - probably stemming from the fact that her father focused all of his attention on teaching her brother how to murder ethically (yes, I know) instead of spending any time with her.
So she curses like a sailor, puts up a tough front to the world, and loves her brother as fiercely as she can. Girl's got steel ovaries.
