I don't remember, honestly. I watched it faithfully in the 80s, and recreated favorite episodes with my own toys. I'm sure it wasn't as good as "Friendship Is Magic."
That's just part 1 (of 3, I think). So you can see how Applejack was originally, and Firefly, who was a precursor to Rainbow Dash. Oh, and Spike! Much as I like Megan, I'm glad FiM doesn't use human characters ... though I kind of miss Mister Mushnik and his rabbit friend.
