I'm married to an Indian citizen & work with a bunch of Indians - so I'm kinda immersed in cricket whether my American self wants to be or not. :-) The Cricket World Cup just ended (with India winning for the first time since 1983 - and my god, the splodegasms from all the Indians I know...) and the Indian Premier League just started up for the year so it's kinda been cricket 24/7 around these parts, cumulating in running off to the park to play a game this weekend.
(In case you didn't know, India, being a former British colony, has a pretty long history of playing cricket. At this point, in fact, India is way more into cricket than Britain is. Cricket is the sport in India. And since we live in the Bay Area, home to tons of Indian expats, there's lots of local cricket stuff - including parks with proper pitches to play on & lots of people interested in playing a friendly game.)
