Seriously, I'm so glad that it worked for you, and that the story managed to evoke MASH even with the Star Trek characters. BJ's longing for home & family always struck me pretty deeply when I was watching the series as a kid, so when I started thinking through this AU, I knew I had to do it with a Bones POV to bring through some of that. And then Jim came along for the ride (in his letters), as Jim is apt to do.
