Whee! I understand the whirlwind thing - we're moving in *gulp* 5 days. Must pack ALL the things. ARG! But I too will be going from 3 hrs round trip to 25 min each way. Still a drive for me, but no highways. So much saner! I look forward to getting those two hours of my life back each day.

Also, super good luck on the interview!! That's very very exciting.

I am so totally ignoring all fandom that isn't Yuletide this year. I think my sanity requires it. But I can probably be persuaded to beta read Star Trek fic if needed :)
